My most recent journal publications include the creative nonfiction essays “Bertha, Freddy, and Gabe” (Spring 2023) and “Old West/ New West, Faux West/ True West” (Fall 2021), both of which appeared in 105 Meadowlark Reader: A Kansas Journal of Creative Nonfiction. My essay “Welcome to the Hotel Sabra,” winner of the 2020 Montana Prize in Creative Nonfiction, appeared in issue 93 of the literary journal Cutbank.
My essays “Why I Hate The Wizard of Oz” (Booth, Spring 2010) and “Dragging Wyatt Earp” (Ecotone, Fall 2007), were recently selected by editors Thomas Fox Averill and Leslie VonHolten for inclusion in the anthology Kansas Matters, forthcoming from University Press of Kansas in 2025.
